Quality first.

Long Reach Oysters is a locally owned family farm situated in the New Meadows River region in Maine. We provide premium raw oysters for the half-shell market in Portland and the greater Casco Bay region. Our process involves grow out in floating cages that are battered by wind and waves, and the occasional on-boat tumble, to produce deep, hard-shelled, and delicious oysters. Our farm now also cultivates hard clams in an effort to maximize our output by taking advantage of the whole water column, oysters on top, clams on the bottom! This minimizes our overall footprint to create a more sustainable operation.

A love of place.

Lincoln Smith started Long Reach Oysters in June of 2015, in his hometown of Harpswell, Maine. He was inspired by his friend over at Winnegance Oysters during a conversation at Morse Mountain. After making the decision to move back to Maine in 2014, Lincoln drew on his background in biology and sustainability, and a love of the ocean to start Long Reach Oysters. He chose the farm site at Long Reach Cove because of the abundant conservation land surrounding this water body and the peaceful off-the-beaten-path character of the cove.
